Chaperone laughs harder than his young pranksters

When our youth pastor assigned me to chaperone the middle school boys on our recent ski trip, a roomful of parents erupted in a volcanic chorus of sarcasm and sympathy. There were many belly laughs, two “Oh mans!” and at least one “Good luck, sucker.”
I brushed it off. I was not scared. The teens in First Presbyterian Church’s youth group are great kids. Besides, youth pastor Brian Johnson was assigned to the senior high boys’ hotel room, and THAT was the job I did not want.
